Refunds & Returns Policy
Effective date: October 2025
Otway Weddings & Events (“OWE”, “we”, “us”) provides digital services including directory listings, advertising features, event promotions, and (from time to time) tickets to OWE-hosted workshops/events. This policy explains when refunds, credits, or re-supply apply. It does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1.Scope
Covered:
- Directory listing subscriptions (Standard, Featured, VIP)
- Add-ons (featured/homepage placements, social posts, blog features, newsletter mentions)
- OWE-run promotions and OWE-hosted workshop/event tickets
Not covered:
Any goods/services purchased directly from third-party vendors listed in our directory (these are separate contracts between you and the vendor).
2. Change-of-mind
Because our products are digital/advertising services that commence once created, approved, or published, we don’t offer change-of-mind refunds after work has started or a listing has gone live.
3. Your rights under the ACL
If a service has a major failure or is not supplied with due care and skill, not fit for its purpose, or does not match its description, you may be entitled to a remedy under the ACL (re-supply, credit, or refund). We assess requests in line with the ACL.
4. Subscriptions, renewals & cancellations
Billing term: Annual, unless otherwise stated.
Renewals: If auto-renewal is enabled, we’ll send reminders before your renewal date.
Cancelling: You can cancel any time before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Mid-term: Once a listing is active, no pro-rata refunds are provided for the remaining period. Your listing stays live until the end of the paid term unless you request earlier removal.
5. Set-up & one-off fees
Onboarding, design, copywriting, content creation, and other set-up fees are non-refundable once work has commenced, as time and resources are allocated immediately.
6. If we don’t deliver an included service
If we fail to deliver an included benefit (e.g., a scheduled feature or agreed placement) and cannot reasonably re-supply within a fair timeframe, you may choose one of the following:
Re-supply at a comparable time/placement, or
A credit toward your next term, or
A partial refund for the undelivered component (assessed at our reasonable value allocation).
7. Pausing listings
You may request to pause your listing (e.g., seasonal closures). Pauses don’t extend the paid term by default. At our discretion, we may grant a goodwill extension once per term (typically up to 30 days).
8. Upgrades & downgrades
Upgrade mid-term: Pay the price difference; new benefits start after approval/publication. No refund of prior lower-tier fees.
Downgrade: Takes effect at the next renewal. No mid-term refunds.
9. OWE workshops & event tickets (if applicable)
7+ days before event: Full refund or free transfer to another date (subject to availability).
Within 7 days: 50% credit or free name transfer.
No-show: No refund.
If OWE cancels or materially changes an event, you’ll receive a full refund or may transfer to a new date.
10. Force majeure
If events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, platform outages, government restrictions) affect delivery, we will re-schedule or provide a credit. Refunds are at our reasonable discretion unless required by the ACL.
11. Chargebacks & disputes
Please contact us first so we can investigate quickly. Unwarranted chargebacks may result in a temporary suspension of services until resolved.

Timeline: We’ll acknowledge within 2 business days and aim to resolve within 10 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method (bank/processor times may vary). Third-party processing fees may be non-recoverable and therefore non-refundable.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
